In 2002, after being a stay-at-home mom for 7 years, I went back to school to open my own business. I spent a year learning programming, then switched my major to multi-media after interning under a web design instructor, Richard Lennox. I had no idea how much this decision would affect my own life, and also affect the lives of others. I'm very grateful for Richard and all of the people that were brought into my life because of it. As I began growing my business, I found opportunities to contribute my new skills to projects that really brought a sense of purpose into my life. I started an online message forum for other women that were going through a major transition in their lives, an information clearinghouse for Lane County Senior Services, and also volunteered my time at various resource agencies in Lane County. |
In 2005 I began teaching web development and design classes at the downtown Professional Development Center for Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. Over the last several years I have taught Dreamweaver, Photoshop, XHTML/CSS, and general web development courses. I thoroughly enjoy working with students & passing on my knowledge to them. I also enjoy helping to professionally 'network' students in if they have a desire to pursue website development as a career. When I'm not doing website development, I'm at home enjoying my husband & family on our farm in Junction City. We garden, take care of our animals, and thank God for our beautiful and peaceful environment He has given us. -Sarah Peterson |
